Bethel Children

What’s Our Purpose?

Children are an important part of our family. We recognize them as the church of tomorrow, but believe they can play a key and dynamic role within the church today. Jesus welcomed children openly and was eager to bless them. He even instructed the grown-ups around him to become like children in order to the kingdom of God. We believe in training and supporting children in becoming faith-filled believers who are motivated to love God and serve others with all their hearts.

When and Where?

During the Sunday service our Children participate in Super Kid’s Church. Check-in is from 9:45-10:05. During Super Kid’s Church we are broken up into two groups:

• SuperChurch ~ 1st grade – 5th grade ~ Upstairs at the top of the Stairway
• KinderChurch ~ 5 years old – Kindergarten ~ Upstairs down the Hallway to the Right
• KinderChurch ~ 3-4 year olds ~ Downstairs to the right of the stage.

During SuperChurch the children will take part in a time of Worship, a Bible story, object lessons, drama skits, and puppet skits. Our emphasis of teaching is on the Bile principles. Our primary purpose of SuperChurch is to lead children into salvation, baptism in the Holy Spirit, and allow them to experience the power of God.

During KinderChurch the children take part in a time of Worship, a Bible Story, an object lesson, a puppet skit, and learning a memory verse as a large group. Then the children are broken up into smaller groups and rotate through four different Learning Centers to reemphasize what they learned and apply it to their everyday life.

Teachers and Staff

Our amazing teachers, helpers, drama team, puppet team, and greeters, are all volunteers and members of our local church body. All of them are selected because of their commitment to children and their spiritual growth. As members of our church, they know and believe in our “Bethel Values”. Two teachers are assigned to both groups, SuperChurch and KinderChurch. There is also a Drama team, puppet team, and helpers in both classrooms. All volunteers rotate every four months. This allows the opportunity for more people to serve as teachers and adds a variety to each classroom. Our Children’s Ministry Team, Chelsey Dunleavy and Paula Kraker supervise Super Kid’s Church. Other Events

Family Life Night takes place on Tuesday nights from 6:00-8:00. All adults and children participate in a time of Family Worship. The children will then separate and go to their classrooms to learn more about worshiping, praying, healing the sick, and soaking.

Once a month Super Kids have a family outing. We get together and participate in a fun activity with our friends and family. Activities may include: ice-skating, movies, bowling, miniature golfing, parks, museums, and much more. Throughout the year there are also Bethel Activities that children are encouraged to participate in. Please consider involvement in Family Picnics, Vacation Bible School, and our annual Christmas program.

Nursery (6 Months - 36 Months)

Available during Sunday service, parents may drop their children off before worship begins and leave them through the remainder of the service. Parents can check on their children as they desire, but will be contacted if there is a problem via our paging system.

There are at least volunteers present in the nursery at all times. There is a variety of age appropriate toys and books available, and plenty of loving care and a Bible song or video will be offered. For safety purposes, only parents may sign their children in and out. A changing table and diapers are available, if needed.

A"Nursing Moms" area is available in the back of the sanctuary.
